5 isn't a high enough mark for this restaurant. I've enjoyed good, bad, moderate and excellent food with my boyfriend while we've traveled as well as at home. Tabule Restaurant is easily one of my favorite restaurants, one that I would fly to eat at. Moe and his sister instantly make you feel at home with family who can cook REALLY well and serve up the most excellent Martini's. My personal favorites is the Caracol Ceviche and Pear Martini's. That combination alone would send me back on a daily basis if I lived in San Diego. They are warm, friendly, interesting and entertaining people who gladly serve as your bartender while they happily bring out their next culinary concoction for you to try. Moe shared his inspirations in food and spirits and life, making him a friend that I would visit even if he wasn't an excellent chef. There are so many things that make this jeweled box restaurant/bar a most excellent find in San Diego. If you enjoy fantastic food, amazing cocktails and wonderfully warm people, you must visit Tabule. For those who are locals to the area, I envy you. Once this restaurant really gets discovered it will be quite difficult to get in. Meanwhile, it's like Happy Hour vacation with a seat waiting for you.
