Gee whiz! There's always a crowd waiting to go back to the '50s at this jumpin' hamburger joint.
The Concept
Cover every inch of space with American icons -- Jimmy Dean, Coca-Cola, chrome and Corvettes -- throw in a little neon, turn up the moldy oldies, train the sassy staff to throw bubble gum, and you've got a repeat destination for parents looking to please their seen-it-all kids.
The Crowd
Insanely happy children scarfing hamburgers and milkshakes -- it's birthday party central for the pre-teen set. If you play your cards right, you might even get an angst-ridden adolescent to enjoy himself. Grown-ups love this place, too -- and you hardly need to sell them on nostalgia.
The Food
Big, juicy burgers (with names like the Eddie, Kookie and Dion) are really your best bet -- you can't get any more American ground beef. "Big Daddy" any burger and you'll get a patty that's nearly two-thirds of a pound. But true to its diner roots, you'll find a bit of everything on this menu: from fish tacos to fried chicken to Chinese-style chicken salad.
Give in to your kid -- or your inner kid -- and order a hot fudge sundae or seriously thick milkshake.

When I was yunger I hated going to the Corvette Diner. I was shy and the waitresses would throw bubble gum at you and try to get you to talk. I grew up and realized that there arent very many places like this anymore. Where you can go up to a DJ and request your favorite oldies songs. Where there is a prestine Corvette feet away from where you are eating. The food is great. But its all in the atmosphere. The Corvette Diner is a remarkable place filled with joy and excitement.
