Between work, family, housekeeping and — oh yeah, trying to have a social life — adults have just as much trouble sitting through a two-hour movie as a 3-year-old. These days, a festival of mainly short films is just as much for adults as it is for kids.
Produced by The Children's Film Festival Company, the 5th annual San Diego International Children's Film Festival has just the ticket for family fun. This year's fest will showcase more than 100 animated, live-action and documentary films made for children from around the world, clustered for different age groups (ages 1-17) and their families from July 27 through August 23 at Comic-Con, MoPA, and the SD Central Library downtown.
The goal of the festival is to introduce children to different cultures and creative film-making techniques. One-hour programs are designed at each respective location and filmmakers will attend to showcase their works and answer questions. Other highlights include an Animation Workshop at MoPA, and others to be announced.
Tip Sheet
Admission is free to all events at the MoPA in Balboa Park and the San Diego Central Library downtown.
