Lots of holiday shows are revivals of tried-and-true favorites, but New Village Arts Theatre has thrown out that script. Instead, they're working from a completely original script – local writing duo Tom Zohar and Amy Chini's “Off the Ground,” a seriocomic play about a family struggling to make peace in the living room. (Never mind peace on Earth).
The show, which had its world premiere last year, opens this weekend at NVA's theater in downtown Carlsbad: Check (760) 433-3245, or newvillagearts.org.

What a great return for "Off the Ground" and New Village Arts. The show breaks traditional Holiday production boundaries, creating a wonderfully entertaining show that makes you wonder if your family was cast.
