Hit the East Village to see Basic Urban Kitchen Bar channeling Brooklyn, the heart of the wall scribbling movement. Basic hosts its Tuesday night culture series "Graffiti" featuring raw local art and music, and general coolness.
"Graffiti reminds me of events in Brooklyn," said Shane Baker of schugariver, which promotes the event. "Where you will find that talent still prevails -- not how many people are on the guest list."
