The Distillers--SOLD OUT
Count it off: 1, 2, 3, 4. Distillers lead singer Brody Dalle looks like a punk rock Joan Jett and sounds like Courtney Love on a binge.

In classic punk style, Los Angeles-based quartet the Distillers doesn't care what I'll write about them. They don't care what you think of them either. The band's primary objective? Blow the doors off pop-punk's tired status quo. In just three years, the Distillers has gone from punk unknown to major-label star. After two acclaimed albums on Epitaph, the group made its major-label debut on Warner Brothers with 2003's "Coral Fang."

Aussie lead singer Brody Dalle (formerly known as Brody Armstrong)--ex-wife of Rancid's Tim Armstrong--propels the Distillers' sound, with her angry, snarling vocals and sharp-tongued lyrics. Dalle's airtight, lightning-quick backing corps holds down the backbeat. "Coral Fang" finds the band varying the tempo from its traditional machine gun pace, but the punk esthetic runs throughout.

The lineup

Brody Dalle-- vocals, guitar

Tony Brady--guitar

Ryan Sinn--bass

Andy Granelli--drums
