The house looks spiffy, the sound system has power to spare, the lighting and seating and other accoutrements all seem up to date.
Yes, Lamb's Players Theatre has done nice things with the Horton Grand, the cozy Gaslamp Quarter venue that the venerable Coronado-based performance company took over earlier this year.
And the show that Lamb's has put up to inaugurate the place?
Again – nice theater.
“Boomers” is a revival and updating of a show Lamb's has staged multiple times over the past 15 years. As a nostalgia trip – a guided coach tour through the highlights of the baby boom's formative years – this peppy revue offers some pleasant scenery.
As a piece of theater, though, “Boomers” has all the heft of an Etch A Sketch drawing.
